The right to free assembly, protest and demonstration

How many of you Baby Boomers in Bundaberg remember the ‘domino theory,’ that communism was on the march in South East Asia? How many of you Baby Boomers realized that the dominos were falling towards Australia and not the USA and when the going got tough the USA loaded helicopters with Americans and left the rest of South Vietnam and by extension all in the path of the dominos to their fate?

The same basic propaganda is now being applied to the Middle East.

First, (I’m not into conspiracies) find a way to occupy Iran’s neighbours, Afghanistan and Iraq. Second, arm the most undemocratic despotic absolute monarchies in the Middle East as allies. Third, put the economic squeeze in Iran until it preferably implodes and if it explodes like Japan in 1941 send in the marines.

Meanwhile, destabilise minor players like Libya, Syria, Jordon, Egypt, Pakistan, with futile promises of democracy to deprive Iran of even small time allies. Bribe India away from Iranian oil and gas with nuclear materials. And, undermining Iran’s internal security with industrial sabotage and assassinations.

Sanctions on Iran will impact hard on Europe, the EU and the Euro which is not unintended by the USA, which retains overall command of NATO.

Let there be no mistake, any war with Iran cannot remain a regional war between grubby Arabs supported by the USA. The other world powers have vested interests in Iran and its allies. It is hard to see Russia and China remaining on the sidelines, or in their corporate boxes. Too much is at stake.

And as no war has ever been fought over anything but economic power and hegemony, this will be a war over the petrodollar and world power.

The EU and the Euro will be the first casualty of the war and the Australian economy will be the second – an implosion of the mining boom as Australia allies with the USA in a third world war which no one can win.
